Hey this is Steve Fisher and welcome to Part 2 of my series on Overcoming self-doubt, fear, and indecision. These are things that all of us as entrepreneurs have to deal with at some point in our businesses, in our lives, or on a regular basis. In part 1 we discussed they #1 key to overcoming these obstacles and it was taking the right action over an extended period of time.
Today I want to talk to you about the #2 key to overcoming self-doubt and crushing it in your business.
It’s learning to listen to the right voices in your life… Voices that inspire you, build you up, and believe in you, voices that cheer you on to success and help you through failures and down times. You have to fill your mind with positive things and positive people and you have to remove negative influences.
Many times these negative influences can be all around us, some of them are intentional, others are unintentional. But words can be said that, if we’re not careful, can have a negative, adverse affect on our success or even our lives. These negative statements can come from parents, friends, teachers, coaches, team members, bosses, other entrepreneurs, and in many cases from our own minds.
I want to read you something that I read in Entrepreneur magazine recently. It said:
“We are entrepreneurs. Our biggest enemies are not our competition, the market or the economy. Our biggest enemies are the voices that tell us we are tired, we are not good enough, and, worst of all, that it’s easier to quit. As entrepreneurs we have to push away those voices and find the strength within us to face more challenges, more obstacles and more adversities. Those who are able to leave the voices behind fall into an elite group because the right way isn’t always the easiest way. You, the entrepreneur who pushes past the barriers your mind has set for yourself, are part of the elite group. You deliberately turn your back on being comfortable and feeling safe. You know that the ‘easy way out’ is always available — it’s right behind you, breathing down your neck. But you never turn around to face its existence.”
Wow, I love that. You, my friend, have what it takes to succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Don’t listen to the voices that tell you differently, whether they come from someone else or from your own mind. You keep moving forward and don’t look behind you at the easy way.
I hope this helped you today. I hope it inspired you. I want you to know, I believe in you. Let’s keep leading the way to the Residual Life. Remember, it’s worth it. There are people out there that need you, they’re depending on you. So you stay focused and lead the way and be one of those that inspires others with your words.
