The Power of “Thank You.”

I just wanted to shoot a quick video about something that recently happened to me that made a huge impression and something I believe ALL of us need to implement in our businesses and in our lives. Check out this video:

I recently went to a conference in San Diego and one day at lunch I had the pleasure and honor of sitting at the same table with Ray Edwards. Ray is a business strategist and copywriter for some of the most powerful voices in leadership and business, including New York Times best-selling authors Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jeff Walker, Michael Hyatt, and many others. So, obviously, it was a huge honor for me to be able to sit next to him and visit for about 30 minutes. He was extremely kind and generous and, to my surprise, a couple of weeks later, I received this Thank You card in the mail…

Ray had gone to my website, found my address, and took the time to sit down and write me a thank you card. It says:

“Steve, I enjoyed our talk at SMMW. Keep doing good stuff! Ray”

I gotta tell you, that made a huge impression on me. I thought, wow, what if I did that with everyone I met with and talked to. What if I did that with prospects or potential customers that I meet with.

I have to admit, this is one of my weaknesses. I just haven’t been good about it over the years, specially sitting down and writing a thank you note, but when I received this from Ray, I made a decision to change that! I immediately went out and bought some thank you cards! I knew how it made me feel and I knew I had to implement this into my business. I have a lot of people to thank, and so this week I will be busy hand-writing some special thank you cards to some special people that have done things for me, people that I’ve met with, and people that have had an impact on my life.

I believe it will make a huge difference in our businesses, in our relationships, and in our lives! Let’s take that extra step and write a note to say, “Thank You.” I hope this tip brings value in YOUR business and in your life.
