Hey Residual Millionaire Insiders! Here is Episode #8 of Residual Millionaire Monday and in today’s message I’m sharing with you from outside in my back yard for 2 reasons… #1 it is BEAUTIFUL outside and #2 I want to share some things that Diane and I have been doing in our back yard that correlate with building a successful network marketing business.
Enjoy today’s video!
As many of you know, Diane and I are selling our house in Colleyville, TX and down-sizing, which brings with it A LOT of work. We needed some landscaping done and my landscapers couldn’t do it and so I started calling around to different companies and they were all busy, but I did have one company give me a bid for $8,000! I quickly said, “No thanks” and Diane and I got busy doing it ourselves. We went to our favorite flower shop and while we were there, another couple was there complaining to the owner that the plants they bought there were dying. So the owner proceeded to ask them some questions: Did you put good soil in before you planted? What kind of fertilizer did you use? How often are you watering? The couple seemed confused, like, “We have to do all of that to keep these plants alive?”
I immediately started thinking about all of the times people have come to me complaining that their network marketing team keeps dying! So I started thinking of the correlations… It’s so similar in our business because I believe the same things have to take place to keep your team alive, just like what you have to do to keep new plants alive.
First have to have good soil… In your network marketing business, that is training. Sometimes you have to take out the old soil and put in all new. Sometimes there’s enough good soil there that all you have to do is mix a little good soil with it. But you can’t just pat a new associate on the back and send them out to start building their business without the proper training.
Secondly, fertilizer is what helps your plants grow faster, stronger, and healthier. In your network marketing business, that is taking the proper ACTION. It’s literally taking that new associate by the hand and saying, “Let’s go building your business!” This is critically important in the beginning of a new associates business. If you don’t help them get off to a great start, you risk losing them all together and just like I don’t want to lose any of these plants, I don’t want to lose any new associates.
Lastly, you have to provide water. Without water, your plants die. The same applies to your network marketing team. So what is the water for your business? What’s that thing that your team absolutely has to have to live?
I thought long and hard about this and I originally thought… Money, but that’s not it. The answer is VISION. They have to have a vision for who they want to become and what this business can do for them. Money is simply a by-product of having a BIG enough vision. A vision that drives you to success… Without vision, your team dies. As a leader, you have to be a great vision caster for your team… You have to cast a vision that helps them believe in themselves and believe in what this business can do for them!
If you’ll focus on doing these 3 things for your team, you’ll have much more success in keeping them alive. I hope you got value from today’s episode and if so, please do me a favor and share and also, leave a comment below. Thanks and I hope you have a great week.
