Welcome to Part 2 of my series on Creating Duplication In Your Network Marketing Business. In the first part, we talked about the importance of being an inviter and a promoter, not a convincer and explainer. We also talked about the importance of pointing to events and systems in order to create duplication on your team. I made a statement that “Being a great recruiter does not make you a million dollar earner in network marketing nor does it guarantee that you will have a big team.” But in the beginning of your business, you do have to get it started and that means you are going to have to recruit some people on your team. So today, I want to talk to you about taking personal action, recruiting, and how you find the right people.
I want you to be intentional about this and I want you to think long-term. This is not about sponsoring anyone that’s breathing. It’s not about carrying a mirror around with you and seeing who can fog a mirror! This is about finding and developing LEADERS. It’s about finding RIGHT people. So many people in network marketing waste time trying to make the wrong people be the right people. This is a recipe for frustration. It not only frustrates you, it frustrates them! It’s much better just to find the right people and help pour gas on their fire.
So, how do you find these right people? To find the right people, you have to attract the right people and to attract the right people, you have to be a right person. This is why it’s so important for you to be committed to your personal development on a daily basis. I recently heard a statement that asked, “Are you the person that the person you are looking for is looking for?”
When you are, then it’s just about getting good at getting lots of people to look.
The #1 mistake that people make in network marketing is not talking to enough people. The #2 mistake that people make is saying too much to the people that they do talk to! The key is to say less to more people and to operate from a position of posture.
Keep in mind, you are looking for the people that are looking for you. My BELIEF in what I’m doing does not require people to agree with me or to join me. I am extremely focused on my goals… Not the opinions of others. So, I do not allow “No’s” or negative people to have an effect on me or on my actions. I’ve always said, “Don’t let what other people do or don’t do effect what you do.”
If you are serious about building a team that grows completely out of your control, you need to set daily goals. I would encourage you to set a goal to get a certain number of no’s per day. If you are doing it on a part-time basis, maybe it’s 3-10 no’s per day. If you are wanting to go full-time, you should be shooting for 10-20 no’s per day. You have to take massive action if you want to be successful.
If you are new in the business, start with people that you know, people that are already in your network. This is your warm market and there’s no doubt about it, if done right, you have a higher conversion percentage in your warm market than in cold market. Here’s some simple things that you can say:
1. “I’ve partnered with some very smart entrepreneurs that have found an incredible way to create residual income and they asked if I knew anyone else that would be interested. I thought of you and I would love for you to do this with me. If I text you a link to a short video, would you watch it?” (Keep in mind, it doesn’t matter to you whether they do or not.)
Here’s another thing you can say:
2. “Would you be open to a side project that has residual income if it didn’t interfere with what you’re currently doing?” If yes, “Great, I’m going to send you a short video and then I would love to introduce you to one of my partners. This is one of the best ways to create passive, residual income I have ever seen.”
Remember, it’s about getting good at getting people to look… It’s about getting people in front of systems and plugging them into events.
But don’t stop with your warm market, that’s just a good place to start. There are many ways to meet people and build relationships online and offline. Here are some examples of ways to meet people offline:
Offline –
1. Networking meetings- Meetup.com is a great way to connect with people in your area.
2. Entrepreneurial events like personal development events or how-to events events.
3. Church events
4. Associations/clubs/sports clubs (Tennis, golf, hockey, etc…).
The key is getting around lots of like-minded people and building relationships!
You can also connect with people online. Here’s some examples of ways to connect online:
Online – All forms of social media like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. On Facebook, you can search almost anything you want to search. For example, you can enter your high school name and it will pull up everyone that you graduated with or everyone that ever attended that school that is on Facebook. You can also search places that you’ve worked and it will bring up people that also have worked there. This is a great way of finding and connecting with people from your past. You can also find membership sites in your niche, which is a great way to connect with people in your industry. Let me just say this, if you are not using the massive reach and vastness of the internet, you are missing out on a wealth of leads. But there’s a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it. Learning how to do it right takes a commitment to self education. Remember, Jim Rohn says, “Formal education will make you a living, self-education will make you a fortune.” I want to congratulate you and thank you for plugging in here at www.Steve-Fisher.com. I will continue to teach the right way of marketing online and offline. I want to help you in your marketing efforts and in your quest to live the Residual life.
In the next video, I will discuss team-building skills that lead to massive growth. There is a ton of great stuff in this next video and it is probably one of the most important subjects in your entire network marketing business… Don’t miss it!
