Dr. Thomas Black is currently the Baylor Emergency Centers Regional Medical Director for a group of 8 hospitals here in north Texas. In this interview, he shares his incredible journey from not being good in school, to joining the Navy, then being slated for the Naval Academy in 1996. However, he ended up being demoted several ranks due to a bad choice and ended up spending 3 years on a ship in the Persian Gulf cleaning toilets. From there, he decided to become a doctor and ended up being accepted in to medical school and became an ER doctor. But he soon learned that it wasn’t what he expected and he was paying a lot in taxes. This led him to the real estate investment world and he and his brother, who is the former COO for a company called Great Wolf Lodge, now run a very successful asset management firm called Napali Capital. Together they manage approximately $50 Million in Commercial and Multi-family assets. You will not want to miss all the great nuggets that Dr. Black shares!
